I am a Finnish actress, choreographer and stylist based in Helsinki. Performing is my second nature and I have been working as a freelance actor, singer, dancer and choreographer in musicals, drama, and film since 2007. I speak Finnish, English, Swedish and Italian.
My latest theatre work include Marianne in Constellations, Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show, Mimi Marquez in Rent and Mona in Chicago.
This season I will be playing Vanda in David Ives’ dark comedy Venus in Fur that will open in Musiikkiteatteri Kapsäkki on 18 October, followed by a new musical theatre concept Broken Hearts Club opening in KokoTeatteri on 7 December. I will also be working as a choreographer for Broadway musical classic Fame as it opens in Rauma in January 2019.
My education comes from Finnish National Ballet School. As an actor I’m self-taught. I have studied Meisner technique under Steven Ditmyer (Neighborhood Playhouse) and have recently delved into the world of Laban. For singing, I’ve studied the Estill model, with Levels 1&2.
In 2016 I got the chance to design costumes for the Finnish tour of The Rocky Horror Show and that kick-started my career as a stylist. Since then I’ve worked with Finland’s leading artists, presenters and performers. In theatre clothes play a huge part in defining a character in a play – the way she walks, the way she sits, the way she holds her bag… The same goes in real life. People see us before we get to say a word so the way we dress is the most powerful weapon to show everyone that we mean business.
